Nepal, the size of Arkansas and 2/5 of Norway is a landlocked country located
between the Tibetan region of China and India. It is home to 8 of the 10
highest peaks including Mt Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. Nepal is amongst the poorest nations on earth however it is rich in scenery,
cultural treasures, shrines, temples and some of the best hiking trails on the
planet. Katmandu, perhaps the most exotic city in Asia and the cultural heart of
Nepal, is the country’s capital, located in a wide valley and the gateway to the
Himalayas. Nepali, a language derived from Sanskrit is the official language of Nepal
however, many people in Government and business speak English. It is the only
official Hindu state in the world.
